Adhemar Barros was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Germano Mumbach showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. The long shot by Victor Romero in the 24th minute really tested Adhemar Barros's skills. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Miritituba FC's goalkeeper Tomé Pernambucano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Belmiro Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Derrubada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belmiro Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albertinho Castro during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adhemar Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Germano Mumbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Zézinho do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Adhemar Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miritituba FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
