Pira EC's Duda da Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anísio Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Ferreira in the 12th minute of play. After 16 minutes, Felippe Barbosa made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Erveira EC's Armando Gerber tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Erveira EC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Cido Quaresma hit a great ball. Felippe Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Teodoro Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Erveira EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodoro Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anísio Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nelson Ferreira was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Felippe Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armando Gerber. Erveira EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felippe Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When Teodoro Berger came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Erveira EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodoro Berger couldn't finish the play. Felippe Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Armando Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Freire's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armando Gerber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Erveira EC's Nelson Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 69 minutes, Teodoro Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Erveira EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodoro Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anísio Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Nelson Ferreira succeeded in the game's 73rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Armando Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Barbosa in the 76th minute of play. Teodoro Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 played minutes Pira EC got a freekick which was hit by Duda da Rocha. Anísio Guedes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teodoro Berger in the 87th minute. A nice corner shot did that Afonso Hames got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Armando Gerber quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Nelson Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Pira EC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
