Catajal SS's Diogo Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Catajal SS from getting a goal against them. Diogo Carvalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felippe Barbosa in the 11th minute. Felippe Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Diogo Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pira EC. If Luiz Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Pira EC's Felippe Barbosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diogo Carvalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dionísio Baiano charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dionísio Baiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Catajal SS getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Dionísio Baiano hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Pira EC's Felippe Barbosa got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Felippe Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Diogo Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Freire blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diogo Carvalho having to make a save. 39 minutes into the match, Felippe Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diogo Carvalho. Catajal SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felippe Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Luiz Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pira EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Freire was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diogo Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Gernando Vergílio made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Vergílio in the 51st minute of play forced Pira EC's goalkeeper Anísio Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 54 minutes of play, Catajal SS's Váldson Dracena made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anísio Guedes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Felippe Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Diogo Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Váldson Dracena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 77th minute, Luiz Freire made a precise shot to the right of Diogo Carvalho. Catajal SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Felippe Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Diogo Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Luiz Freire's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diogo Carvalho was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. 89 minutes into the game, Felippe Barbosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pira EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catajal SS the free kick. Luiz Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Carvalho having to interfere. Felippe Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
