With an all-out effort, Zarzuela FC's Armando Gerber threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anísio Pires, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nelson Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinícius da Costa having to interfere. In the 13th minute Nelson Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinícius da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodoro Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Vinícius da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Zarzuela FC defense, Nelson Ferreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vinícius da Costa. The Zarzuela FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vinícius da Costa should have stopped the shot. In the 22nd minute of the match Jonas Vergílio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armando Gerber skillfully saved the ball. Erveira EC's Armando Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Pires in the 24th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelson Ferreira in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vinícius da Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vinícius da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nelson Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. A collision led to Zarzuela FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Wilson Ferreira hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Zarzuela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Berger came free, but Vinícius da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Adolfo da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zarzuela FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Gerber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anísio Pires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Gerber having to make a save. In the 47th play minute Donato França came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Armando Gerber. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelson Ferreira to make the kick off. When Anísio Pires came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Zarzuela FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio Pires couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the match, Zarzuela FC's goalkeeper Vinícius da Costa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodoro Berger. In the 60th minute, Donato França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Anísio Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zarzuela FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anísio Pires was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Gerber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armando Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato França in the 65th minute of the match. Anísio Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Adolfo da Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 76 minutes of play, Zarzuela FC's Anísio Pires made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armando Gerber was left in no man's land by his defense there! Armando Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato França in the 91st minute of the match. If Donato França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vinícius da Costa was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Nelson Ferreira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nelson Ferreira really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
