Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jerônimo Tróia started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Cariugonga's goalkeeper Egídio Abraão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Fabiano Braga. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cariugonga fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! Egídio Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Palmeira in the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Luís Fabiano Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mantena's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fabiano Braga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egídio Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Antônio Rosado kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 18th minute of the match Fellipe Botelho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Egídio Abraão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Cariugonga getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Nóbrega hit a great ball. André Luiz Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 26th match minute, Cariugonga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Tavares to maneuver through the defense. Claudinho Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Maurinho Ferraz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of André Luiz Netto. Mantena's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maurinho Ferraz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Mantena's Jerônimo Tróia got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 42 minutes, Luís Fabiano Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mantena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fabiano Braga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cariugonga's Gil Tavares got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Mantena's Luís Fabiano Braga got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Mantena booed when Cariugonga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandrinho de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudinho Rodrigues to make the kick off. Mantena's André Luiz Netto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Mantena from getting a goal against them. If Luís Fabiano Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luís Fabiano Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Abraão having to interfere. Luís Fabiano Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerônimo Tróia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egídio Abraão having to make a save. Mantena's André Luiz Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Rodrigues in the 64th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, Mantena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Mello to maneuver through the defense. Mantena's André Luiz Netto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Mantena from getting a goal against them. Maurinho Ferraz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of André Luiz Netto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Maurinho Ferraz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jerônimo Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mantena's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerônimo Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egídio Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Egídio Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fabiano Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cariugonga's Egídio Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerônimo Tróia in the 93rd minute of play. Mantena's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
