Remo Pirani started the match with the kick off. Márcio Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Gustavo Luz having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Márcio Mangueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Gustavo Luz was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. 9 minutes into the match, Turaru EC's Fellipe Brasil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Gustavo Luz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 24 minutes, Alex Garcia made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Turaru EC's Léo Amaral tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Remo Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horizontina's supporters rose to their feet, but Remo Pirani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Léo Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alex Garcias short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Léo Amaral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Alex Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Alex Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Augusto Carioca during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fellipe Brasil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Luiz Gustavo Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Horizontina's Alex Garcia got a free kick in the 85th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Turaru EC's zone, Alex Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léo Amaral came out of the goal and Alex Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute, Albertino Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horizontina were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Turaru EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Juarês Vidal took the corner. After taking down the ball on Horizontina's corner Alex Garcia fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Léo Amaral quite easily take care of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Horizontina fans cheered their team off the field, for while Turaru EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
