The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Robinho Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlinhos de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcinho Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 7th minute, Gildo das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cícero Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Robinho Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Conchas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robinho Novaes couldn't finish the play. After 15 minutes, Cícero Alvarenga made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Mombaco's Carlinhos Messias tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 21 played minutes Conchas got a freekick which was hit by Aílton Mumbach. Armando Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos de Alcântara having to interfere. Gildo das Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gildo das Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gildo das Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Kléber Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute, Conchas's Robinho Novaes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlinhos Messias. Carlinhos Messias yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kléber Nascimento to strike the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Mombaco got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Nascimento. 58 minutes into the game, Luiz Guilherme Rosado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mombaco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Conchas the free kick. Luiz Guilherme Rosado hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 59 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Conchas's Robinho Novaes fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Kléber Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlinhos de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléber Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After 66 played minutes Conchas got a freekick which was hit by Henrique de Mendonça. Carlinhos Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cícero Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Conchas's Carlinhos de Alcântara got control of the ball when Armando Melo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 78 played minutes Conchas got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Loureiro. Carlinhos de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kléber Nascimento in the 81st minute of the match. Cícero Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luiz Guilherme Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Conchas's zone, Kléber Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlinhos de Alcântara came out of the goal and Kléber Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Melo got free with Carlinhos de Alcântara in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armando Melo struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Carlinhos de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mombaco. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Conchas had won after a very even match.
