The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Doni Barral fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moitinha's protests and gave Doni Barral a yellow card for diving instead. Doni Barral kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After having played for 7 minutes, Nildo Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itobi AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Nildo Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Neto in the 14th minute of play forced Itobi AD's goalkeeper Angelo Quaresma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute of the match, Nildo Silva tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alessandro Moreno saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Emanuel Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nildo Silva was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 26th minute. Itobi AD's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Itobi AD's Angelo Quaresma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tião Neto in the 30th minute of play. Angelo Quaresma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tião Neto in the 31st minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 33 minutes into the game, when Jano Monteiro put in a rough tackle. 39 minutes into the game, Tião Neto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moitinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itobi AD the free kick. In the 39th minute, Tião Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute, Emanuel Neiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd match minute, Moitinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Toninho Lira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Neiva made a kick off. Toninho Lira hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Emanuel Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Moreno having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitório Nunes in the 59th minute of play forced Itobi AD's goalkeeper Angelo Quaresma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Itobi AD getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Tiago Diniz hit a great ball. Vitório Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Angelo Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Itobi AD's Angelo Quaresma got control of the ball when Tião Neto tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Aluísio de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelo Quaresma was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Vitório Nunes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vitório Nunes really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Vitório Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Quaresma having to interfere. The supporters of Moitinha booed when Itobi AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho das Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tião Neto hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Moitinha players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
