Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Tapereba's Reginaldo Cerezo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zé Carlos Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Henrique Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Walmir Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute Reginaldo Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Breno Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carlinhos Barral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reginaldo Cerezo in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leandro Sampaio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Tapereba's Reginaldo Cerezo in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Piaui's goalie prevented a goal. Walmir Machado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henrique Arruda having to make a save. Henrique Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Barros in the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Zé Carlos Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Piaui booed when Tapereba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Luís Eger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Walmir Machado to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humberto Esteves during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 52 played minutes Piaui got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Esteves. Carlinhos Barral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Reginaldo Cerezo sped through Piaui's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leandro Sampaio. Carlinhos Barral's late challenge caught a Piaui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlinhos Barral helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Piaui booed when Tapereba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Barral didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Piaui fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when Piaui's Zé Carlos Barros looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Carlinhos Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Sampaio having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Piaui's Walmir Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henrique Arruda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Yan Cavalcante fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tapereba's protests and gave Yan Cavalcante a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Tapereba's Yan Cavalcante got a free kick in the 78th minute. Henrique Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Machado in the 81st minute of the match. If Yan Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reginaldo Cerezo took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leandro Sampaio. Leandro Sampaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 94th match minute, Piaui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breno Moura to maneuver through the defense. Tapereba's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
