In the 9th minute of the match Dinei Cruz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flavinho Mandrak skillfully saved the ball. If Luiz Gustavo de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute Luiz Gustavo de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Mandrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavinho Mandrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenílson Tróia in the 41st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Realengo AD's zone, André Luís do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué Mumbach came out of the goal and André Luís do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Josué Mumbach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodriguinho Pires in the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodriguinho Pires to strike the kick off in the second half. Piracicaba's Ernani Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Josué Mumbach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodriguinho Pires in the 64th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lenílson Tróia got free with Flavinho Mandrak in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Realengo AD's Josué Mumbach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodriguinho Pires in the 69th minute of play. When Ernani Soares came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Piracicaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernani Soares couldn't finish the play. After 77 played minutes Realengo AD got a freekick which was hit by Christiano Brodel. After 88 minutes of play Piracicaba's Ricardinho Motta was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In a very dangerous position, a player in Piracicaba fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Flavinho Mandrak had in the 90thth minute some difficulties stopping Dinei Cruz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball Dinei Cruz took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavinho Mandrak. Flavinho Mandrak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.
