Célio da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Valle having to interfere. After 5 played minutes Guaraciaba got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldinho Félix. Betinho Valle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juninho Xavier's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. A hard shot by Osvaldinho Furtado from long distance, 10 minutes into the match, got Marcinho Barral's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Chaves in the 13th minute of play forced Brundue AD's goalkeeper Marcinho Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Brundue AD getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Arlindo da Cunha hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Lauro Arruda sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Brundue AD's Marcinho Barral didn't even have to move. Célio da Silva's late challenge caught a Guaraciaba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Célio da Silva helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Célio da Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Marcos Chaves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcinho Barral. Brundue AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcos Chaves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of Brundue AD booed when Guaraciaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brundue AD's Juninho Xavier got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Brundue AD booed when Guaraciaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Guaraciaba's Victor Mello got a free kick in the 31st minute. Arlindo da Cunha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Betinho Valle. Guaraciaba's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Marcos Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th match minute, Brundue AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio da Silva to maneuver through the defense. Virgílio Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Guaraciaba's zone, Juninho Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betinho Valle came out of the goal and Juninho Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juninho Xavier to make the kick off. Virgílio Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Betinho Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgílio Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Guaraciaba's Fernando Andrade got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Chaves in the 61st minute of play forced Brundue AD's goalkeeper Marcinho Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgílio Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgílio Cerezo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Betinho Valle made a huge save. In the 75th minute, Lauro Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 minutes Guaraciaba's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arlindo da Cunha who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Brundue AD's Arlindo da Cunha to fire away a dangerous shot which Betinho Valle despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 80th match minute, Guaraciaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Leão to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Brundue AD's zone, Douglas Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcinho Barral came out of the goal and Douglas Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgílio Cerezo might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Betinho Valle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgílio Cerezo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Juninho Xavier took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Betinho Valle to make any attempt to save it. 91 minutes into the match, Guaraciaba's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Xavier came free, but Betinho Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Chaves in the 95th minute of play forced Brundue AD's goalkeeper Marcinho Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brundue AD were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
