Clemente Vides hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the match, Mandassaia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Xavier came free, but Francisco Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Fábio de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Fábio de Azevedo to strike the kick off in the second half. Brundue AD's Marcinho Barral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Brundue AD from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Luís Fábio de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandassaia EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fábio de Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcinho Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Fábio de Azevedo in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcinho Barral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 63 minutes into the game, Célio da Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brundue AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mandassaia EC the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Brundue AD's zone, Elano Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcinho Barral came out of the goal and Elano Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute, Elano Linhares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcinho Barral was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Juninho Xavier struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Francisco Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brundue AD. Francisco Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgílio Cerezo in the 78th minute of the match. Juninho Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Barros having to interfere. Mandassaia EC's Francisco Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Xavier in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute Virgílio Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brundue AD's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
