The referee showed Dedé dos Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th minute, Jerônimo Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osvaldinho Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Sena having to interfere. In the 14th match minute, Belomonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amílton Koehler to maneuver through the defense. Axioma FC's Jerônimo Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Guga Sena successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Felipe Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitinho Macedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jean Lago's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felipe Vides was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Belomonte's Jean Lago got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Umberto Breckenfeld's late challenge caught a Belomonte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Umberto Breckenfeld helped the player get up and apologised. Vitinho Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Vides having to interfere. Vitinho Macedo struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Felipe Vides didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belomonte. 39 minutes into the match, Belomonte's goalkeeper Guga Sena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jerônimo Mazza. Dedé dos Santos was shown his second yellow card after 39 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Belomonte's Dedé dos Santos got a free kick in the 40th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Jerônimo Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Axioma FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerônimo Mazza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Waldemar Tande was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th match minute, Belomonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amílton Koehler to maneuver through the defense. After 61 played minutes, Axioma FC's Perivaldo Paraibano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Guga Sena came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Axioma FC reached it. After some careless play in the Belomonte defense, Waldemar Tande kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guga Sena. The Belomonte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guga Sena should have stopped the shot. Waldemar Tande's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guga Sena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Axioma FC's goalkeeper Felipe Vides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 74th match minute, Axioma FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Breckenfeld to maneuver through the defense. If Waldemar Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guga Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerônimo Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After having played for 84 minutes, Waldemar Tande managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Axioma FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Tande was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Vitinho Macedo fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belomonte's protests and gave Vitinho Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Axioma FC booed when Belomonte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitinho Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo Mazza in the 92nd minute of play forced Belomonte's goalkeeper Guga Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belomonte's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
