Brodosqui's Zé Pedro Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateus Tavares in the 3rd minute of play. With a little luck, Brodosqui's Zé Pedro Jacinto got control of the ball when Tadeu Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Tadeu Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Guaycara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeu Rocha couldn't finish the play. Tadeu Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Zé Pedro Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute Mateus Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tadeu Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ismael Dante during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur Tróia in the 55th minute of play forced Guaycara's goalkeeper Júlio Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, one of Guaycara:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tadeu Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guaycara's Júlio Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Guaycara from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute, Brodosqui's Sílvio Luiz Vander seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sílvio Luiz Vander the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Brodosqui protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sílvio Luiz Vander had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Guaycara a penalty, 81 minutes into the game.
