The supporters of Igrejinha booed when Piranga EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Adolfo Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudinho Vasconcelos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Claudinho da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piranga EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho da Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raúl Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clemente Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 27 minutes into the game, Claudinho da Rocha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Raúl Guedes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Raúl Guedes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinho da Rocha in the 44th minute. Piranga EC's Claudinho da Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinho da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Raúl Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Luís Queiroz to make the kick off. In the 81st minute, Vânderson da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vânderson da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Vasconcelos having to interfere. After 90 played minutes Pedro Luís Queiroz rounded Piranga EC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. 94 minutes into the match, Igrejinha's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho da Rocha came free, but Raúl Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
