But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Correia couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Clemente Correia put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Serginho Alvarenga. Claudinho Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serginho Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemente Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Acudes EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ernani Vides was slow to take the kick. During this time Piranga EC's players had a chance to rest. Clemente Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serginho Alvarenga having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto Lago during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Norberto Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Piranga EC's Clemente Correia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Serginho Alvarenga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The wind increased when Arnaldo Araújo made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Acudes EC's Valdo Melo got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute of the match Ernani Vides sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Serginho Alvarenga skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Piranga EC defense, Miguel Fernandez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinho Vasconcelos. The Piranga EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinho Vasconcelos should have stopped the shot. Arnaldo Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Vasconcelos having to interfere. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Piranga EC's goalkeeper Claudinho Vasconcelos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Arnaldo Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84thth minute of the game Arnaldo Araújo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Piranga EC's Claudinho Vasconcelos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Claudinho da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serginho Alvarenga having to interfere. In the 95th minute of the match Valdo Melo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudinho Vasconcelos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Acudes EC had won after a very even match.
