Cupatana SC's Giovani da Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Cupatana SC from getting a goal against them. Alfredão Rossi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Giovani da Fonseca made a huge save. In the 11th minute, Allan Santana made a precise shot to the right of Aírton Branco. Queimada SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Giovani da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertinho de Castro in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertinho de Castro in the 22nd minute of play forced Cupatana SC's goalkeeper Giovani da Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aírton Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonsinho Costa in the 31st minute of the match. When Alfredão Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Queimada SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredão Rossi couldn't finish the play. Albertinho de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani da Fonseca having to interfere. Alfredão Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Albertinho de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Queimada SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertinho de Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovani da Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Betão Varela came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Queimada SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Betão Varela couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albertinho de Castro made a kick off. Giovani da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredão Rossi in the 58th minute of the match. Giovani da Fonseca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredão Rossi went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Cupatana SC defense, Alfredão Rossi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovani da Fonseca. The Cupatana SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovani da Fonseca should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute Afonsinho Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Allan Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albertinho de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Giovani da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Queimada SC's Valério Pitta got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Afonsinho Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Branco having to interfere. Albertinho de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, one of Cupatana SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cupatana SC. The referee gave Queimada SC a penalty, 97 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Américo Palmeira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cupatana SC's Giovani da Fonseca. 5-2. Queimada SC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
