Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Manfredo de Amorim took the kick off in the first half of the match. João Pedro dos Santos's late challenge caught a Gonzaga AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Pedro dos Santos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gonzaga AD booed when Matinhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Pedro dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Luiz Tróia made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Hermínio Meirelles sent off a good shot on target. Hermínio Meirelles in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sílvio Luiz Tróia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Brodel in the 10th minute of play forced Gonzaga AD's goalkeeper Juvenal Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Gonzaga AD's Nilton Soares got a free kick in the 13th minute. After 22 played minutes Manfredo de Amorim rounded Matinhos's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Matinhos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gonzaga AD:s goal. When the match had been going on for 28 minutes, Gonzaga AD's Renatinho de Lara got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sílvio Luiz Tróia. Matinhos's Américo Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The attack was good, but when Hermínio Meirelles in the 34th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Hermínio Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Sílvio Luiz Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manfredo de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. In the 53rd minute, Matinhos's Chiquinho Dracena ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juvenal Velasco. Juvenal Velasco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Manfredo de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sílvio Luiz Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gonzaga AD's Hermínio Meirelles in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Matinhos's goalie prevented a goal. After 63 played minutes Gonzaga AD got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Maciel. After recieving a nice pass, Matinhos's Paulo José Berger tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Sílvio Luiz Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo de Amorim in the 75th minute of play. After 79 minutes, Paulo José Berger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matinhos and the Gonzaga AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Matinhos's Paulo José Berger got a free kick in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo de Amorim in the 83rd minute of play forced Matinhos's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, João Pedro dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manfredo de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Sílvio Luiz Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
