Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Coady's Ivo Mesquita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Antônio Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cido Proença having to interfere. Carandai's Cido Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Mesquita in the 11th minute of play. If Antônio Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Antônio Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cido Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Antunes in the 18th minute of the match. Cido Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivo Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Ivo Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coady's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivo Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cido Proença breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute, one of Carandai:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carandai. After a long run with the ball, José Augusto Matorin did a trick in the 29th minute in front of Carandai's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 0-1. An impressive performance by Coady's José Augusto Matorin! The audience was convinced that Antônio Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cido Proença was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Carandai's zone, Antônio Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cido Proença came out of the goal and Antônio Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antônio Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Cido Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ivo Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Coady fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivo Mesquita couldn't finish the play. Carandai's Cido Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Antunes in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Carandai's Zé Paulo Bueno got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Ivo Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Severino Neiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Remo Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Neiva in the 55th minute of the match. Antônio Antunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cido Proença having to make a save. Sabino Faustino's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cido Proença firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cido Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Severino Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Remo Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Neiva in the 72nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Coady's zone, Zé Paulo Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remo Neves came out of the goal and Zé Paulo Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antônio Antunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Cido Proença made a huge save. Coady played a much better game than Carandai and deserved their victory. The Carandai players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
