Pedro Luís Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caio Lucas having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luís Faria in the 20th minute of play forced Catingal's goalkeeper Caio Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Birra's Pedro Luís Faria in the 21st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Caio Lucas was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Catingal through an amazing save. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Ian Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catingal's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Moreno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulão Guimarães didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ian Moreno went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 0-2 became the score in the 45th minute when Ian Moreno elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Lenílson Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Kiko Brasil hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. If Robinho Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Caio Lucas came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Birra's Robinho Valadares. But to his dismay, Robinho Valadares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Gualter Secco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gualter Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Paulão Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 played minutes Birra got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Brasil. Birra's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 89th minute, one of Birra:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Birra. Paulão Guimarães had in the 90thth minute some difficulties stopping Ian Carneiro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 91 minutes, Kiko Brasil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Birra and the Catingal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 91 played minutes Birra got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Brasil. In the 94th minute, Gualter Secco fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ian Moreno might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulão Guimarães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ian Moreno ran back to his position shaking his head. The Catingal players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
