After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Jaime Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quixeramobim FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evandro Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armandinho Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jaime Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evandro Quirino having to interfere. Jaime Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Quixeramobim FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Wanderson Mendes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Quixeramobim FC's Hamílton Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrício Gomes in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Jaracatiara booed when Quixeramobim FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Quixeramobim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Patrício Gomes came free, but Hamílton Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quixeramobim FC's Hamílton Luz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Quixeramobim FC from getting a goal against them. Quixeramobim FC were awarded a corner in the 50th minute after Jaracatiara's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Zé Roberto Novaes took the corner.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrício Gomes was the one to do the kick off. If Patrício Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. Hamílton Luz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jaracatiara. In the 93rd minute of the match Zé Roberto Novaes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evandro Quirino skillfully saved the ball. In the 97th minute Wanderson Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamílton Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 99 minutes into the game, Jaracatiara's Wanderson Mendes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hamílton Luz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Quixeramobim FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
