Eurico Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho Prado in the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute Marcelinho Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eurico Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcelinho Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Prado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eurico Madureira. Marcelinho Prado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 15th minute, Horácio Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cícero Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Juninho de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 minutes, José Paulo Sena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Veiros and the Ladainha players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, José Paulo Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luciano Leal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Juninho de Lara. Veiros's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ladainha's Edgar Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelinho Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eurico Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Marcelinho Prado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Natanael Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 37th minute of the match José Paulo Sena completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave José Paulo Sena a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Telmo Sampaio might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eurico Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Telmo Sampaio ran back to his position shaking his head. Cícero Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Juninho de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Telmo Sampaio to strike the kick off in the second half. Cícero Ferraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho de Lara having to interfere. In the 54th minute Cícero Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho de Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Natanael Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Telmo Sampaio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eurico Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telmo Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Cícero Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 67th minute, Edgar Mello left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ladainha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With his leg Juninho de Lara managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Ladainha's Edgar Mello fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 78 minutes, Horácio Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Veiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horácio Maia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Veiros's Telmo Sampaio got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Veiros's zone, Natanael Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho de Lara came out of the goal and Natanael Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
