Severino Botelho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antônio Moraes having to make a save. In the 10th minute Severino Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antônio Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos de Carvalho in the 16th minute of play. Sozinho FC's Ronaldão Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronaldão Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo de Alcântara having to interfere. After 30 minutes, Nelsinho Urbano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sozinho FC and the Goianopolis players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Sozinho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelsinho Urbano to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Botelho in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Moraes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luiz Fabiano Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Severino Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goianopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sozinho FC's Luiz Fabiano Tepedino got a free kick in the 45th minute. After a rather tough play, Goianopolis's Sérgio Dias got a free kick in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by José Pedro Oliveira in the 56th minute of play forced Goianopolis's goalkeeper Jairo de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 56 minutes, Zé Roberto Linhares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goianopolis and the Sozinho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Goianopolis's Jairo de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Pedro Oliveira in the 58th minute of play. Antônio Moraes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Severino Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sozinho FC's Ronaldão Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jairo de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldão Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Marcos de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Antônio Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amílton Ramos charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amílton Ramos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute, Amílton Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the match, Sozinho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Botelho came free, but Antônio Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Sozinho FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Goianopolis's performance. The match ended with a win for Goianopolis.
