Ribeiropolis's Paulinho Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Ribeiropolis from getting a goal against them. Doriva Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Dagoberto Tasso hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. If Dagoberto Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the game, Dagoberto Tasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Doriva Porto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 24 minutes into the match, Ribeiropolis's Carlos Alberto Leal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Doriva Porto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ribeiropolis's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Armindo de Carvalho was slow to take the kick. During this time Cocos SS's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Armindo de Carvalho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ribeiropolis's Paulinho Vale did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Paulo Machado got free with Paulinho Vale in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Augusto Mineiro during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th minute, José Augusto Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Alberto Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Doriva Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dorian Cavalcante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 63 minutes, Cipriano Pinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ribeiropolis and the Cocos SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dorian Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Paulinho Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ribeiropolis's Davi Madureira got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 79 played minutes Ribeiropolis got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo da Silveira. In the 80th minute Dorian Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulinho Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Cocos SS booed when Ribeiropolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Toscano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorian Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Pedro Paulo Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulinho Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th match minute, Ribeiropolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cipriano Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Dorian Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cocos SS's Pedro Paulo Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dorian Cavalcante came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Cocos SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorian Cavalcante couldn't finish the play. Ribeiropolis's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
