Paulinho Vale made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Dedé Luz sent off a good shot on target. Magno Marques succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to get real power on a long shot . Melancias's Claudinho Paulista hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-1! Dedé Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinho Paulista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Tasso in the 39th minute of the match. In the 72ndth minute of the game Chiquinho Pires who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ribeiropolis's Paulinho Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 74th minute of the match Melancias got a corner. Ribeiropolis's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sidney Souto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dedé Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Vale having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Albertinho Madureira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ribeiropolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Melancias the free kick. A collision led to Ribeiropolis getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Albertinho Madureira hit a great ball. With a little luck, Melancias's Claudinho Paulista got control of the ball when Carlos Alberto Leal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ribeiropolis's Albertinho Madureira suffered a concussion in the 84th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo do Valle during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 85th minute, Arnaldo do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dedé Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chiquinho Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Paulinho Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulinho Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedé Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 minutes of play, Melancias's Chiquinho Pires made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulinho Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Melancias had won after a very even match.
