The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elias Loyola made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Antônio Carlos Quirino sent off a good shot on target. Celsinho Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Xavier in the 10th minute of play. When Antônio Carlos Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Itirapua SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antônio Carlos Quirino couldn't finish the play. In the 17thth minute of the game Cássio Bezerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itirapua SC's Celsinho Azevedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Juarês Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murilo de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juarês Xavier in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celsinho Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Celsinho Azevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juarês Xavier's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Murilo de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Elias Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Itirapua SC's zone, Juarês Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celsinho Azevedo came out of the goal and Juarês Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cássio Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Celsinho Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mauro Lucas kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Murilo de Sena hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Antônio Carlos Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Antônio Carlos Quirino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itirapua SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Antônio Carlos Quirino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Murilo de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristiano Damião charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A very good opportunity. Cássio Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Azevedo having to interfere. A collision led to Itirapua SC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Mauro Lucas hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Murilo de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itirapua SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Murilo de Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elias Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Cristiano Damião was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 84th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Juarês Xavier got free in front of the goal in the 86th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Celsinho Azevedo was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Juarês Xavier got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 89th minute, Mauro Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lombas SS's Cássio Bezerra managed to work through Itirapua SC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Cássio Bezerra dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 92nd minute, Mauro Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Juarês Xavier put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Celsinho Azevedo. The Lombas SS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
