José Paulo Brito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Benedito Sarmento made a huge save. Pastinho's Benedito Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denílson Saraiva in the 11th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filipe Faustino during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pastinho booed when Arari AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Faustino didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Pastinho's Ulysses Galvão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Igor Queiroz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ulysses Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Queiroz having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Arari AD's Aluísio Pirani got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute of the match Pastinho got a corner. Arari AD's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Juvenal Trigo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Waldemar Novaes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Arari AD's Igor Queiroz did a great save. After a rather tough play, Arari AD's Sílvio Luiz Galvão got a free kick in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Arari AD's goal looked a bit too open when Doni Madureira came free, but Igor Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Pastinho's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Saraiva came free, but Benedito Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denílson Saraiva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benedito Sarmento having to make a save. Igor Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Madureira in the 45th minute of play. After 46 played minutes Arari AD got a freekick which was hit by Aluísio Pirani. In the 48th minute, Doni Madureira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Arari AD's zone, Ulysses Galvão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Queiroz came out of the goal and Ulysses Galvão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulysses Galvão to strike the kick off in the second half. Denílson Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute José Paulo Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldemar Novaes hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 64th match minute, Arari AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. If José Paulo Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 87th minute Denílson Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Arari AD's goal looked a bit too open when Ulysses Galvão came free, but Igor Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulysses Galvão in the 93rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Ulysses Galvão kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Igor Queiroz. That made the score 0-2 in the 95 minute of play. Carlos Alberto Mendes hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pastinho eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
