An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedé Tinoco in the 6th minute of play forced Braco's goalkeeper Elias Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th match minute, Braco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Tróia to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Braco's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aloísio Dracena was slow to take the kick. During this time Ipiabas SS's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Ipiabas SS getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. In the last second Elias Mendes throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cristiano Carioca in the 25thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After having played for 27 minutes, Davi Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davi Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ipiabas SS's Marcelinho Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexsandro Tróia in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Ipiabas SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. Davi Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Pombal's late challenge caught a Ipiabas SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
