Horácio Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Vasconcelos in the 5th minute of the match. When Tapirapoa's Betão Mangueira, in the 7th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Tapirapoa. Luís Fabiano Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Naldo Viana in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Frank Monteiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Passos in the 23rd minute of play forced Tapirapoa's goalkeeper Frank Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Vitório Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute Vítor Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vítor Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Monteiro having to interfere. Jarbas Catarinense hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. A collision led to Tapirapoa getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Inácio Vasconcelos hit a great ball. Vítor Passos took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frank Monteiro. Frank Monteiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Inácio Vasconcelos made a kick off. Naldo Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Monteiro having to interfere. After 53 played minutes Tapirapoa got a freekick which was hit by Matheus Alcântara. Sanharo SC's Vítor Passos got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Matheus Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Tapirapoa's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Passos came free, but Frank Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo Viana in the 68th minute of play forced Tapirapoa's goalkeeper Frank Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th match minute, Tapirapoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvinho Bastos to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Inácio Vasconcelos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Horácio Favoretto. The goal made the score 1-1. 82 minutes into the game, Inácio Vasconcelos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Horácio Favoretto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frank Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. With an all-out effort, Tapirapoa's Horácio Favoretto threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Inácio Vasconcelos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tapirapoa's Frank Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Viana in the 91st minute of play. Betão Mangueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horácio Favoretto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The Tapirapoa supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tapirapoa would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
