With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitório Meira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the game, Cléber Cordeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Francez AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Muxiopo EC the free kick. Vitório Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Severo in the 24th minute of play. Richard Gaúcho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Humberto Simão's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute, Cléber Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vitório Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelinho Saldanha, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Erik Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
