The audience was convinced that Jonathan Tasso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tibúrcio do Valle was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. In the 10th minute, Mateus Favoretto fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Adrianinho Proença. Luiz Fábio Bastos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adrianinho Proença having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mateus Favoretto got free with Adrianinho Proença in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Herculandia's Túlio Senna got a free kick in the 20th minute. Luiz Fábio Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Adrianinho Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd match minute, Herculandia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerson do Valle to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 26 minutes, Jonathan Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herculandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Herculandia booed when Meruoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tibúrcio do Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerson do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Tibúrcio do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Tasso in the 34th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Herculandia's zone, Luiz Fábio Bastos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrianinho Proença came out of the goal and Luiz Fábio Bastos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The supporters of Meruoca booed when Herculandia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvinho Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Tasso scored 0-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tibúrcio do Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mateus Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Adrianinho Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Meruoca's goal looked a bit too open when Gerson do Valle came free, but Tibúrcio do Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josué Gaúcho's late challenge caught a Herculandia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josué Gaúcho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd match minute, Meruoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josué Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Tasso struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Tibúrcio do Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Herculandia. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Herculandia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
