Amauri Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romeu Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amauri Vergílio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Meditacao's goalkeeper Eurico Dante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuca Tavares. A collision led to Meditacao getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Felippe Terra hit a great ball. Eurico Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Dante having to interfere. When Silas Prestes fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meditacao's protests and gave Silas Prestes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Paranacity FC booed when Meditacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Mauro Saldanha notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Paranacity FC's Amauri Vergílio. Amauri Vergílio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mauro Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Vergílio having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Samuca Tavares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paranacity FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romeu Torres stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eurico Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeu Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 52nd match minute, Meditacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felippe Terra to maneuver through the defense. Eurico Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Eurico Dante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuca Tavares in the 90th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the game, Patrício Favoretto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Meditacao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paranacity FC the free kick. In the 91st match minute, Meditacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrício Favoretto to maneuver through the defense.
