The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Angelo Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Augusto Cavalcante in the 4th minute of play. A collision led to Sabauna getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Yan Guerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Vinícius Rossi made a huge save. Carlos Augusto Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Angelo Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donatello Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Angelo Quirino came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Sabauna's Carlos Augusto Cavalcante. But to his dismay, Carlos Augusto Cavalcante quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jairo Goiano struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Vinícius Rossi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caresalzinho EC. After having played for 47 minutes, Carlos Augusto Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sabauna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Augusto Cavalcante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Caresalzinho EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sabauna were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jairo Goiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jairo Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinícius Rossi having to interfere. Yan Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66thth minute of the game Jairo Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sabauna's Vinícius Rossi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 70 minutes into the match, José Augusto Fernandez notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Caresalzinho EC's Angelo Quirino. Angelo Quirino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yan Guerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vinícius Rossi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. José Augusto Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Angelo Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donatello Soares charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donatello Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Caresalzinho EC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play.
