After having played for 10 minutes, Lenílson Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Joaima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenílson Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Geraldo Vale came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Jaques fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo Vale couldn't finish the play. Kauan Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kléber Félix during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28thth minute of the game Lenílson Monteiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jaques's Franklin Paraense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st minute, Ernani Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Joaima's goal looked a bit too open when Ernani Trigo came free, but Gugu Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 minutes, Ernani Trigo made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Joaima's Gugu Porto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Lenílson Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joaima's supporters rose to their feet, but Lenílson Monteiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franklin Paraense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Jaques were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lenílson Monteiro made a kick off. In the 60th minute, Luís Guilherme Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emílio Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Abelardo Leão came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Jaques fans jumped to their feet. Franklin Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Luís Guilherme Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenílson Monteiro in the 87th minute of play forced Jaques's goalkeeper Franklin Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Lenílson Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Joaima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenílson Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lenílson Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd match minute, Joaima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Digo Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. The Jaques supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jaques would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
