Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Patrocinio EC's Belmiro Salgado started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sidnei Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Germano Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute Belmiro Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Carlos Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cléber Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Zé Carlos Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Carlos Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belmiro Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cléber Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 18th minute Cléber Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Carlos Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Patrocinio EC's zone, Luís Paulo Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidnei Nogueira came out of the goal and Luís Paulo Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 24 played minutes Patrocinio EC got a freekick which was hit by Adalberto Peixoto. Zé Carlos Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Salgado in the 28th minute of the match. Germano Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Nogueira having to interfere. Belmiro Salgado scored 0-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Carlos Ferraz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luís Paulo Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Sidnei Nogueira made a huge save. Patrocinio EC's Sidnei Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germano Azevedo in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Betão Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Patrocinio EC's Adalberto Peixoto got a free kick in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Germano Azevedo in the 58th minute of play forced Patrocinio EC's goalkeeper Sidnei Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Paulo Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Sidnei Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Patrocinio EC's goalkeeper Sidnei Nogueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cléber Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Cléber Duarte made a precise shot to the right of Zé Carlos Ferraz. Corityba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Belmiro Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Corityba's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Salgado came free, but Zé Carlos Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute Belmiro Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Carlos Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 84 minutes, Cléber Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Patrocinio EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléber Duarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Paulo Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Paulo Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Nogueira having to interfere. Sidnei Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Germano Azevedo in the 91st minute of play. Zé Carlos Ferraz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cléber Duarte in the 93rd minute. The Patrocinio EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Patrocinio EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
