After 7 minutes, Alessandro Melo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lontras and the Ajaru SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Lontras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Melo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Lontras's zone, Luiz Fernando Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Mineiro came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. William Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Váldson Tande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonas Marques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hugo de Andrade having to make a save. If Jonas Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Ajaru SC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Arí Neto hit a great ball. Jonas Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo de Andrade having to interfere. The supporters of Lontras booed when Ajaru SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reginaldo Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reginaldo Novaes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ajaru SC's Luiz Fernando Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Váldson Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natã do Nascimento charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Natã do Nascimento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 41 played minutes Lontras got a freekick which was hit by Natã do Nascimento. Váldson Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lontras's zone, Reginaldo Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Mineiro came out of the goal and Reginaldo Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonas Marques made a kick off. Jonas Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo de Andrade having to interfere. Luiz Fernando Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Ajaru SC's Hugo de Andrade got control of the ball when Gugu Vianna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hugo de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Marques in the 64th minute of the match. Jonas Marques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hugo de Andrade having to make a save. Lontras's William Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fernando Meirelles in the 69th minute of play. With a little luck, Ajaru SC's Hugo de Andrade got control of the ball when Gugu Vianna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lontras's Jonas Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Váldson Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Mineiro having to interfere. In the 89th minute Luiz Fernando Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
