After a rather tough play, Upamirim EC's Claudinho Mello got a free kick in the 5th minute. Amauri Varela hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Eduardo Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Upamirim EC's Ernesto Aguiar threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Patrício de Queirós, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Natã do Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Ernesto Aguiar made a huge save. Aníbal Souto kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Upamirim EC's Giuseppe Matorin got a free kick in the 20th minute. Eduardo Furtado was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Amauri Varela came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Inhambupo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amauri Varela couldn't finish the play. After 24 minutes, Claudinho Mello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Upamirim EC and the Inhambupo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Claudinho Mello hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Upamirim EC's zone, Faustão Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Botelho came out of the goal and Faustão Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaime Paraense during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Inhambupo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 31st minute. Penalty! In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Upamirim EC. Ezequiel Bittencourt stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ernesto Aguiar. 1-0. Natã do Vale blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ernesto Aguiar having to make a save. 42 minutes into the game, Patrício de Queirós recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ernesto Aguiar. Patrício de Queirós showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Faustão Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrício de Queirós to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Amauri Varela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inhambupo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 56th match minute, Inhambupo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Souto to maneuver through the defense. Faustão Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute, Upamirim EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Faustão Pombal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 68 minutes into the match, Upamirim EC's goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Pombal came free, but Bruno Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Patrício de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrício de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ernesto Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute Faustão Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Inhambupo's zone, Natã do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Aguiar came out of the goal and Natã do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Natã do Vale struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Ernesto Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Upamirim EC. Inhambupo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
