In the 34th match minute, Oliveira EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cícero Maciel to maneuver through the defense. When Rubinho Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Fortinho fans jumped to their feet. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hélio Faustino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fortinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruninho Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Vander in the 81st minute of play forced Fortinho's goalkeeper Christian Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
