The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hélio Faustino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Arce having to interfere. Umberto Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Faustino, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Hortêncio Freire charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hortêncio Freire the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Tacare's Hortêncio Freire got a free kick in the 14th minute. Inácio Zanette didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zézinho Lara went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Inácio Zanette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zézinho Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zézinho Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Zanette having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zézinho Lara in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Inácio Zanette prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Oliveira EC's zone, Donatello Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Zanette came out of the goal and Donatello Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute Zézinho Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes of play, Tacare's Donatello Simões made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Inácio Zanette was left in no man's land by his defense there! Inácio Zanette stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zézinho Lara's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Inácio Zanette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donatello Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Zézinho Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Inácio Zanette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Hélio Faustino made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donatello Simões in the 52nd minute of play forced Oliveira EC's goalkeeper Inácio Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Oliveira EC's goalkeeper Inácio Zanette, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience held their breath when Carlos Moreno in the 57th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Umberto Arce's left hand side. Umberto Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Faustino in the 59th minute of play. In the 67th match minute, Oliveira EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Moreno to maneuver through the defense. Benjamim Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 72nd minute of the match Cléberson Senna sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Inácio Zanette skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donatello Simões in the 76th minute of play forced Oliveira EC's goalkeeper Inácio Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Oliveira EC defense, Donatello Simões kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Inácio Zanette. The Oliveira EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Inácio Zanette should have stopped the shot. When Sebastião Vander fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tacare's protests and gave Sebastião Vander a yellow card for diving instead. If Donatello Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute Donatello Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Oliveira EC's Guga Xavier got a free kick in the 89th minute. Tacare's Zézinho Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Oliveira EC's Inácio Zanette got control of the ball when Zézinho Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Vander in the 95th minute of play forced Tacare's goalkeeper Umberto Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
