Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reynaldo Fernandes in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlinhos Duarte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luiz Fabiano Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Carlinhos Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Reynaldo Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilson Branco made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Ademar Madureira sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 24 minutes, Jefferson Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Susano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jefferson Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute, Ademar Madureira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ademar Madureira did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Nilson Branco 31 minutes into the match. Susano's Jefferson Rossi got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlinhos Duarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Jefferson Rossi made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Reynaldo Fernandes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlinhos Duarte was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 66th minute, Artur Massa had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Susano.
