Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Reynaldo Fernandes made the kick off which started today's match. After 2 minutes, Durval Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salamanca and the Benevolencia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute Reynaldo Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Faustino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th match minute, Benevolencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Tepedino to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cícero Fonseca in the 10th minute of play forced Salamanca's goalkeeper Nilson Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Benevolencia booed when Salamanca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durval Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Benevolencia's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Fernandes came free, but Henrique Faustino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Cícero Fonseca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Benevolencia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 37th minute Narciso Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Narciso Souto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Narciso Souto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilson Branco having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Cícero Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benevolencia's supporters rose to their feet, but Cícero Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Salamanca's Nilson Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Souto in the 50th minute of play. After the first half Benevolencia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cícero Fonseca was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Benevolencia booed when Salamanca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Dário Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 played minutes Salamanca got a freekick which was hit by Juarês Passos. A hard shot 62 in the game by Narciso Souto from a close distance when the talented Nilson Branco managed to make a qualified save. Salamanca's players were relieved. 64 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Fernandes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrique Faustino. Benevolencia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reynaldo Fernandes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 67th minute Reynaldo Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Faustino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Benevolencia getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Adolfo Machado hit a great ball. Henrique Faustino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 84th minute, Reynaldo Fernandes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrique Faustino was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 87 played minutes Benevolencia got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Tepedino. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Fernandes in the 89th minute of play forced Benevolencia's goalkeeper Henrique Faustino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salamanca's Luiz Fabiano Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Paulo Tepedino came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Benevolencia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Tepedino couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Salamanca fans cheered their team off the field, for while Benevolencia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
