David Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Agostinho Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vitor. In the 8th minute Benedito Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hamílton da Silva in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Luís de Queiroz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benedito Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Santana having to interfere. Washington Teles's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Agostinho Santana skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Vitor booed when Ubajara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Paulo Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Deivid Arósio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Agostinho Santana skillfully saved the ball. Benedito Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Agostinho Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hamílton da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luís de Queiroz having to interfere. Washington Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Santana having to interfere. Agostinho Santana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benedito Ramalho's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Sidney de Queiroz hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. A collision led to Ubajara getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Joaquim Quadros hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, Vitor's Benedito Ramalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agostinho Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 69th match minute, Vitor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Berger to maneuver through the defense. Washington Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Santana having to interfere. Benedito Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Agostinho Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Ramalho in the 78th minute of play forced Ubajara's goalkeeper Agostinho Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes Ubajara got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton da Silva. Vitor's Washington Teles got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Hamílton da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitor were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
