Guilherme Barreto came out of the goal and Manfredo Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Itapinima's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Baiano came free, but Guilherme Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Itapinima's Guilherme Barreto got control of the ball when Manfredo Pimenta tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 19 minutes, Manfredo Pimenta made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Itapinima's Guilherme Barreto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Itapinima booed when Comodoro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manfredo Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Reynaldo Tinoco struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Orlando Alvarenga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapinima. 43 minutes into the match, Comodoro's Richard Baiano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guilherme Barreto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Augusto Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augusto Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th minute, Augusto Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guilherme Barreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Percy Meireles in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agostinho Favoretto was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute, Guilherme Rosado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute Agostinho Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Reynaldo Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wiliam Bueno charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wiliam Bueno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wiliam Bueno kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 64th minute by Agostinho Favoretto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 66th match minute, Comodoro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guilherme Rosado to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Flavinho de Alcântara from long distance, 67 minutes into the match, got Orlando Alvarenga's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 68 minutes into the match, Comodoro's goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Favoretto came free, but Orlando Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guilherme Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Guilherme Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reynaldo Tinocos short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Orlando Alvarenga to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Guilherme Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Arthur Marquez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Guilherme Barreto. Itapinima's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Agostinho Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Orlando Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Reynaldo Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Comodoro fans cheered their team off the field, for while Itapinima had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
