The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Claudinho Passos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Luizão Sarmento made a huge save. In the 12th minute Gustavo Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Timaneira EC's Ediberto Fantini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chiquinho Figueiredo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a little luck, Timaneira EC's Luizão Sarmento got control of the ball when Claudinho Passos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Timaneira EC's Luizão Sarmento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Timaneira EC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Timaneira EC's Hílton Paranaense got a free kick in the 20th minute. If Celsinho Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. Chiquinho Figueiredo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 30 played minutes Choa SC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Pontes. Chiquinho Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Toscano in the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Choa SC's goalkeeper Chiquinho Figueiredo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 39 minutes into the game, Timaneira EC's Gustavo Toscano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Toscano was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. Timaneira EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The audience was convinced that Gustavo Toscano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chiquinho Figueiredo was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Claudinho Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 94 minutes, Chico Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Choa SC and the Timaneira EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Choa SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruninho Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Timaneira EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
