Choa SC's Chiquinho Figueiredo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 9th minute of the match Renatinho Xavier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chiquinho Figueiredo skillfully saved the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Válbson de Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Severino's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Choa SC the free kick. After 12 played minutes Severino got a freekick which was hit by Válbson de Brito. Cléberson Abreu, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Severino's goalkeeper Alexandre Cerezo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudinho Passos. After 21 played minutes Choa SC got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Rossi. When Severino's Jairo Moura in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Choa SC's goalie prevented a goal. Dênis Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chiquinho Figueiredo having to interfere. In the 40th minute Jairo Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Dênis Palmeira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Severino fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dênis Palmeira to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Dênis Palmeira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chiquinho Figueiredo was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Dênis Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chiquinho Figueiredo having to interfere. If Dênis Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nildo Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. A hard shot by Renatinho Xavier from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Chiquinho Figueiredo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 94 minutes in the game, Dênis Palmeira fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Chiquinho Figueiredo having to interfere.
