The Itaquera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armindo Terra should have stopped the shot. Frio SS's Gilmar Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Acácio Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Itaquera getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Frédson Neves hit a great ball. Edgar Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Eduardo de Queiroz having to interfere. When Edgar Alves came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Itaquera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Alves couldn't finish the play.
