After a defensive mix-up in Corixo EC's zone, Léo Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldinho Coelho came out of the goal and Léo Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Augusto Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Narciso Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osvaldinho Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Custódio Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Léo Zonta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvaldinho Coelho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ricardo Ramalho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Osvaldinho Coelho. Corixo EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 27th minute, Tales Messias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reynaldo de Sena's late challenge caught a Ibipetum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reynaldo de Sena helped the player get up and apologised. After 33 played minutes Corixo EC got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo de Sena. Léo Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Osvaldinho Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute Custódio Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Custódio Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Osvaldinho Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Corixo EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Ibipetum a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marcelinho Gaúcho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Corixo EC's Osvaldinho Coelho. 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Custódio Rosa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Ibipetum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tales Messias to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute Custódio Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59thth minute of the game Augusto Prestes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibipetum's Narciso Machado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Ibipetum's goal looked a bit too open when Válter Marinho came free, but Narciso Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narciso Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Prestes in the 64th minute of the match. Augusto Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Machado having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válter Marinho in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Narciso Machado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Augusto Prestes took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narciso Machado. Narciso Machado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After 79 played minutes Ibipetum got a freekick which was hit by Marcelinho Gaúcho. 90 minutes into the match, Léo Zonta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Osvaldinho Coelho. Corixo EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Léo Zonta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Válter Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Narciso Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ibipetum's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
