A collision led to Arrepol EC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Ciro Matos hit a great ball. Patrício Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denílson Simão having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Cardozo in the 22nd minute of play forced Arrepol EC's goalkeeper Ademir Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Alvarenga's goalkeeper Denílson Simão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrício Soares. Ademir Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Augusto Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute, José Augusto Meirelles made a precise shot to the right of Ademir Moreno. Arrepol EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Alberto de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademir Moreno having to interfere. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Alvarenga's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gildo Brasil was slow to take the kick. During this time Arrepol EC's players had a chance to rest. Gildo Brasil made a great header on Arrepol EC's corner, it was just that Alvarenga's Denílson Simão managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 88th minute Francisco Faustino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Humberto Machado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2.
