Túlio Pombal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walmyr Rossi having to make a save. 9 minutes into the match, Chicão Veiga notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mondai AD's Walmyr Rossi. Walmyr Rossi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 12th match minute, Abaiara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Secco to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Lara got free with Aleandro Santana in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Celso Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mondai AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aleandro Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute, Celso Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wellington Hames might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aleandro Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wellington Hames ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 40 minutes, Wellington Hames managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mondai AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wellington Hames was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Wellington Hames managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mondai AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Wellington Hames was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aleandro Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chicão Veiga made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Mondai AD's goal looked a bit too open when Chicão Veiga came free, but Walmyr Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Abaiara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aleandro Santana should have stopped the shot. In the 67thth minute of the game Chicão Veiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mondai AD's Walmyr Rossi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Abaiara booed when Mondai AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chicão Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmyr Rossi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Chicão Veiga showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 72 minute of play. Túlio Pombal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmyr Rossi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Hames in the 76th minute of play forced Abaiara's goalkeeper Aleandro Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abaiara's Aleandro Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wellington Hames in the 83rd minute of play. Wellington Hames took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aleandro Santana. Aleandro Santana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Chicão Veiga was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Abaiara's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Walmyr Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chicão Veiga in the 96th minute of play. The Abaiara players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
