Luizão Lopes's late challenge caught a Segredo SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benê da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Macedo having to interfere. Laerte Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benê da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Adelino Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Virgílio do Vale to strike the kick off in the second half. Anderson Nascimento charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anderson Nascimento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anderson Nascimento hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Duda Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costela's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
